
His experience in construction began in 1946 when he joined the apprenticeship program of the AFL/CIO Carpenters and Jointers of America. For the next seven years, he worked as a carpenter journeyman, foreman, project manager, and superintendent for various minor and major construction companies here and abroad.
In 1953, he entered the University of California and in 1957 he took a leave of absence, married, started his own family, and established his own business. Upon return to UC Berkeley, he completed the structural engineering requirements in 1969.
From 1984 through 1994, Mr. Levitch taught architectural design at Contra Cost a Junior College . Since his retirement, Mr. Levitch has pursued his design/build career without interruption as a designer, licensed Architect and educator.
His roll on the oversight committee will incorporate his seasoned experience within the banking industry assisting the companies’ relationship with the financial markets. Also his fiscally prudent style will support close supervision of profit margins, tax forecasting and audit procedures.
