On December 6, 2008, the Landmark Preservation Commission (LPC) of the City of Berkeley has unanimously approved the restoration and preservation of The Martin House located at 2411 5th Street in Berkeley, CA.  Subsequently, the building department has issued the building permit for construction.

 

The Martin House has been lifted and the substructure has been cleared up.  The building is now ready to be placed in the proper setback location.  The reconstruction from the new foundations on up is about to begin.
